I think its apt to give a title "trip". With God Delusion on my bag I boarded the train to New Delhi a day before the 64th Indian independence day. I never liked traveling without all the tickets reserved.,but this was a break journey from Hyderabad to Kota via Mathura. Getting out of the comfort zone is always difficult, but when there is no other way you have to bend the rules, now its the destination which matters. What is the destination for a free man?
I reached Mathura at morning 6:30 and I came to know that it will be nearly impossible to get a ticket in the next connecting train to Kota, which is at around 10.30, the golden temple express running between Amritsar to Mumbai. So I took the ticket for 3.30 train. I decide to see the city as i have a few hours to kill. Rixshawale attack you in every gadaamn railway station. I thought its better not to plan this part of my trip and get going some where and see this small town. Just after the Mathura railway station I found a bunch of sadhu's on their characteristic half naga vastram and having chillum. I asked the old rikshawala about these sadhus and gancha, he was a bit surprised in the beginning but he told me he could get 100 grams for 30 bucks. good deal, in Hyderabad I think I need to shell out some 200bucks for the same stuff. From there he took me trough some dirty galli's to an old bus stand where he got one pack of gancha. As its a temple city and every gali has a temple I thought its better to see the dwarakadish mandir (from outside), where its believed to be the place where Krishji had his maiden voyage on a basket to brindhaven crossing yamuna. The great yamuna, which now is one of the most polluted rivers in north India. I was surprised to see that men don't mind taking bath along with pigs, cows and monkeys. I could find only dirt in this water, may be I should be looking into a religious perspective to see the purity of these waters. It was surprising to see a person drinking water from yamuna. Probably this is called holy-shit. Why on earth people of our country still believe in a polytheistic religion. We have several gods, because no one god can do their duty correctly so we depend on several gods. Or is that the belief of god is just fake. No one believes or is belief blind. Gadamn. I was always skeptic or agnostic about religious beliefs. Why do one believe? What actually they are believing? Does it means there is something in return you wish for or you hope. I think thats the primary feeling of believing...some selfish motive. Believing that god will give me some money or help me out in getting out of this misery. The selfish list of believes goes on. There is no selfless belief I guess. One version is that you can ask anything to God, its his duty is to hear our selfish wishlist and process it.
Well.. on this trip, "believe me" I didn't make any wish list. We finally reached the lanes of dwarakadish mandir. I was literally attacked by the religious pimps or some chota pundits who had taken up this part time pimp business to keep the tourist's bags in a safe place and show them around the mandir and tell the fabricated myth of load krishna's's birth. They were fighting among themselves to show me around. The only thing they differ from the pimps in Goa are they don't carry the foto album. Finally from those pimp shows we managed to get out. I had no intention to see a rock god., so we went to the ghat where we take out the first round of gancha. My rikshawala got some cigarettes and the fine gancha we recently got, after removing the seeds from the bhang he filled it into his chillum and we started having it at yamuna kinare, the bangs of yamuna. Its a good experience, people say that marijuana is the best medicine for cancer and spirituality. I found it true, attaining nirvana or getting rid of a pain, you need some hallucination. For me its like forgetting the pain and into a nirvana state. Took few more trips to get a good high. The effect of this doesn't last long but I was on an elevated state. I felt it like a divine intervention happening here, I was abstaining from cigarettes for more than 5-6 months (I'm just an occasional smoker) but I had made a promises to myself that I won't smoke but when I smoked I travelled more than 1000kms to come to bangs of yamuna to have marijuana that too with a total stranger. I think the GOD's want me t smoke pot. After the first shot we went to the main bus stand to get some puri for breakfast. Then from there to the krishnjamsthan , the temple and prison where krish was borne. Now this temple share a common wall with a mosque.

After seeing a lot of mandirs I finally understood that this place is just full of holi-shit. No offense my dear bhakth janoom . Literally most of the places there is huge shit but this place....its holy-shit. Its a good place to study the population dynamics and interaction of four equally competing communities like cows, pigs, monkeys, flies and humans. Good God had given the cows a good long tail just a natural fan from attacking flies. We don't have that advantage we humans have to compete with the files for food. I was hungry but I prefer not to eat than lettin the flies attack the food. Why in the name of God people take up lot of shit. Why is it that we people live in shit just like a pig do. We humans like this way I guess just dump all the waste and pollute the place they live and just move on to another place. In most of the old civilization talk about the calamities or a great flood. I think some think of that sort is needed to rebuild our society to just get rid of the religious, social and political pain we endure along with the disturbing flies. I'm a pacifist by nature...but I truly believe that human population should not exceed not more than 3 billion.
We then went back to the cantonment area just in front of the army office, under the shade of trees we had our second lot of chillum filled with gancha. Finally going back to the railway station I realized that I had a wonderful independence day celebration. On the way back rickshawala was kind enough to give me his chillum, with whom I made friendship. I understood one thing crucial in this trip – just get out of the comfort zone you can find some good grass... ;)
PS: please forgive my grammar
its always fun to free your self ego of being a molecular biologist and enjoy life in its true sense.I disgree with many thing in this blog. specially regarding holiness and shittiness. that is trade mark of all UP , bihar cities it has nothing to do with being a temple town. this problem is aggrivated in such places since lots of people visit and they simply donot care for these things.
ReplyDeletecomeon bony... I'm not a molecular biologist nor I have an ego of being a science enthusiast, perhaps I always look for comfort. I know you disagree because you are a creationist-molecular biologist and I guess you don't want to think rationally and don't want to think also what you believe. I know you won't agree to me, nor I wanted you to change your faith, but just sit and think rationally what you believe. make up your mind for once and for all...and why you fool science. I guess you will finally classify yourself in the category of Lentivirus. I think we all will end up as Homo sapiens destructionist.
